# CheckMyRate: 2 months from research to launch: a Webflow site for an Australian mortgage broker

- Year: 2026
- Industry: Real estate & investment
- Services: Web design, Webflow development
- Result: Launch, Lead generation
- Stage: Startup

## Input

CheckMyRate is an Australian service, based in Melbourne, that helps homeowners quickly check whether their mortgage rate is still competitive and find a better deal if it is not. Its founder, Brandon Ngadino, asked for a modern, easy website for a mortgage broking firm: one that helps people judge whether their loan still pays off, and brings in new clients across Australia.

## Reasoning

The company's mission is to make the mortgage market more transparent, so the site had to explain before it sells. We built a structure that serves both new and existing clients: the main page, leadership, the blog, partnership, a questionnaire, seminars and contacts, with templates for posts and seminars. The look is warm and calm: people and homes in the photos, dark blue and one pink accent, and the Onest typeface.

## Outcomes

A live Webflow site for desktop and phone: the main page with the rate check, the leadership page, an educational blog with articles and categories, pages for partners and seminars, and a questionnaire that leads to a broker. The project took two months across five stages: research and analysis, wireframes, concepts and UI design, Webflow development, QA and support.

> Figmatica team quickly understood our vision and delivered a website that feels clear, trustworthy, and on-brand. It looks really great and helps us reach and convert more users across Australia.

## Design notes

- **One scroll through the main page.** The first screen assembles itself: the headline, the button, the pink line and the photo. Then, as you scroll, the header folds into a pill, loan types sit in a carousel, the reasons to trust the broker stack up as cards, and the FAQ opens its answers in place.
- **Your home loan, simplified.** The main page leads with one promise and one button, then the lenders the broker works with, loan types for every stage of life, a message from the founder and the educational articles.
- **A structure for new and existing clients.** Seven sections and two templates: the main page, leadership, the blog, partnership, the questionnaire, seminars and contacts, plus a post template and a seminar page.
- **Two months, five stages.** Research and analysis, wireframes, concepts and UI design, Webflow development, and QA with support after the launch.
- **Leadership on a phone.** The leadership page opens with the team, a pink line runs around their photo, and the mission statement fills in word by word as you scroll.
- **Loan types in one swipe.** On a phone the eight loan types are a carousel of photo cards: one in full view, the next one peeking at the edge, so it is clear there is more to swipe.
- **A blog that explains before it sells.** The educational section groups articles by category, and every article ends with related reading and a way to talk to a broker, on desktop and on a phone.
- **Dark blue, one pink, and Onest.** The palette runs from white and light blue to a deep dark blue, with pink kept for the action. One typeface, Onest, carries everything from headlines to labels, and the same pink runs through the icons, social posts and merch.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should a mortgage broker's website show first?

One clear promise, one action, and proof: the lenders you work with and why people can trust you. For CheckMyRate the first screen is 'Your home loan, simplified' with a rate check, followed by the lenders' logos, loan types for each stage of life and a message from the founder.

### How long does a Webflow site for a financial services company take?

CheckMyRate's site took two months: research and analysis, wireframes, concepts and UI design, Webflow development, and QA with support. The length depends mostly on how many page types the site needs; this one had seven sections and two templates. ### Why does a broker's website need an educational blog?

Because people choosing a loan compare before they call. An educational section answers their questions, fixed or variable rate, refinancing, first-home buying, and ends each article with a way to talk to a broker, so reading turns into a conversation.
